Soooo the other day I wrote about “BEing Young” or youthFull and we spoke about the FIRST and foremost matter of importance, our Perceptual Paradigm or state of Aware Consciousness--what thoughts and feelings about self we are entertaining, adopting, and thus incorporating into our physically manifest lives, which of course Creates our physically manifest lives. š
Go figure. š hee hee hee
Indeed, thinking good thoughts and having good feelings are fabyoulous, however…….we do exist/are expressing ourselves through these Physical Vessels which require our TLC – tender loving care.
Hence our equally ‘next’ important aspect of maintaining our youthFull vitality and BEingness which IS Making Healthy Lifestyle Choices.
This incorporates ALL aspects of our lifestyle, from how we eat to how we play, from the work we do to the exercise and physical ACTivity we participate within to the people we call family, friends, community,ā¦..ALL of it.
Obviously, the healthier the choices we make the healthier our lifestyle, the healthier our ability to make healthy choices that contribute to our youthfull vitality. Yup….it’s a circle, infinitely spiralling us into ever expanding states of health and bliss.*
To elucidate through an example….if you choose to smoke cigarettes daily, an unhealthy lifestyle choice, it will definitely hamper your lung capacity which will hamper your ability to participate in physical activiites for as long and as intense as otherwise you may be able to. This of course, ultimately affects our ability to make healthy lifestyle choices in the first place. As with anything our choices have a snowball effect upon our lives, exponentially affecting the rest of our life…..including of course, our youthFull vitality.
What we choose to eat, the ACTivities- from physical to mental to spiritual- we choose to pARTicipate within, the people we choose to surround ourselves with, the profession/career/work we choose to invest ourselves within, as with ALL things in life, when made from a conscious state of awareness makes ALL the difference in the world regarding our youthFull vitality.
Take this one step further and make conscious choices that ALLOW us to BE, identify/define ourselves with all things we associate with healthy youthFull vitality and bingo bango YOU are CHOOSing to BE YouthFull Vitality.
What DOes this mean?
We- ALL of us, are children…….the old, the young, the tall the short, the big, the small, ALL of us…….are children of our earth school, all of us, children to someONE, all of us have withIN us PlayFullness……….all of us have within us an ‘inner’ child that delights in the oneders of that which inspires us most.
The ‘trick’ is to ALLOW……..
ALLOW the ‘inner’ child [which is only inner ‘cuz we were told to ‘put’ that aspect of self inside so we can ‘grow up and be responsible’] OUT.
ALLOW that aspect of YOU that expresses yOUR delight, your inspiration, your childlike oneder, fascination, intrigue, excitement, gratitude, LOVE to shine through in all that you do……..even when being a ‘responsible grown up’ā¦ā¦.
and YES*** YOU/we CAN Have it ALL……….
You/we CAN BE the responsible youthFully vital, energized, deLIGHTFull, dedicated, professional, playFull ‘grown up’.
And as the commercial says,
WE ARE WORTH IT*** ;D
BlissFull balanced BEingness of playFull responsibility to ONE and ALL*

Sometimes we get caught up in the routine of eating the same foods over and over again. Often times itāsĀ not that healthful eating isnāt tasty, but rather itās the lack of variety. Adding a variety of super nutrient dense foods to our diet ensures that weāre getting the laundry list of vitamins and minerals that the body needs to thrive.
Most aspects of a healthy diet are quite obvious. We know that fruits and vegetables are healthy and processed foods are not healthy. Too much meat and fried foods are also not healthy. There are, however, those foods that we should be eating but for one reason or another we tend to overlook. Consider superfoods that you havenāt yet added to your diet along with some ideas about how to put them to work in your favorite recipes.
(Click through to the end, or click the back button, for a text-only version.)
1. Spirulina
SpirulinaĀ is a blue green algae thatās a wonderful food especially for those that avoid meat products. Though this is certainly true of everyone, a deficiency in B12 is more common in vegans and some vegetarians because B12 is found in animal products. If youāre feeling really tired and rundown, you might not be getting enough. There is no whole food source of B12 for vegans, except for spirulina. Whatās more,Ā spirulina has iron. A deficiency of iron, also called anemia, is a very common ailment in our population. Add spirulina to shakes and smoothies by the spoonful.

2. Hemp Seeds
Hemp seeds are a great source of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 is made up of three acids EPA, DHA, and ALA. ALA can be found in hemp seeds, flax seeds, andĀ chia seeds. Hemp seeds also have more protein than milk or eggs and theyāre easier to digest than both of them. Ground the seeds down and try them out in thisĀ vegan cheesecake.

3. Adzuki Beans
Theyāre smaller than black beans and reddish brown in color but loaded with nutrients. In fact, these little guys contain some of the highest levels of protein and lowest levels of fat of any variety ofĀ beans. They also contain high levels of potassium, fiber, B vitamins, iron, zinc, and manganese.Ā Adzuki beansĀ promote regular bowel movements, are a good source of energy, and help lower cholesterol. Try them out in theseĀ Easy, Upscale Nachos.

4. Kukicha Twig Tea
Itās called twig tea and itās been around for centuries. Itās made with the stems, stalks, and twigs of the tea plant. Initially, farmers sipped on the tea because it was what was leftover from the harvesting of the more expensive leaves. Itās known as a peasantās drink in Japan but in the West weāve started to praise the health benefits of the tea for its ability to promote longevity. Itās especially known for its ability to balance acidity in the body, which can lead to disease and ill health down the line.

5. Ghee
If youāre unfamiliar with ghee, itāsĀ clarified butter often used in Indian cooking. Ghee is made by simmering unsalted butter in a pot until all water has boiled off, the milk solids have settled to the bottom, and the ājunkā has floated to the top. According to Dr. Vasant Lad, director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, N.M., traditionally, ghee has been used to promote memory, intelligence, and digestion. Modern science tells us that ghee bolsters the immune system as well. Try thisĀ kitchari recipe.

6. Fenugreek
FenugreekĀ is an herb that is commonly used in the Mediterranean region of the world. Itās a good herb to reduce menstrual cramps, cholesterol, menopause symptoms, and help control diabetes. Try thisĀ Makhani Murgh (Butter Chicken).

7. Grapefruits
Ok, you may still be eating these, but for me these are really 1987. I grew up eating them plain with a teaspoon of sugar and then until recently completely forgot they existed. They were all the rage during the 1980s low fat craze and they may be one of my favorite foods to come out of that era.Ā GrapefruitsĀ contain monoterpenes which sweep the body of carcinogens. They also contain vitamin C and folic acid. Try thisĀ Mixed Citrus Salad.

8. Jerusalem Artichokes
When weāre depleted of iron it often leads to a feeling of fatigue. Fight against anemia by dosing up on iron-rich foods. I wrote that the daily recommendation for iron is 18 mg per day but you may be surprised to learn thatĀ Jerusalem artichokesĀ have 5.4 mg per cup.Ā Learn to prepare them.

LOVing SELF IS as much about our SELF directed thoughts and feelings as it IS our physically manifest ACTions for our physical vessel š
Care for the physical vessel IS VITAL to ONE’s homeostasis state of BEing.
Start with Healthy Eating and Fitness, āØfeeding yOUR physical vessel the energy it requires in the healthiest of forms and the ACTivity it yearns for to experience itSELFā¦.to feel itSELF, thus MOTION.
Healthy Eating incurs intaking foods that provide for the requirements of the physical vessel, from minerals and vitamins to proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
Healthy Eating requires that YOU DO the Research to LEARN what it IS our physical vessels need to operate the magnificent systems of our complex BEingness.
Healthy ACTivity incurs the ALLOWance for the physical vessel to MOVE, to EXPRESS itSELF in the myriad of ways that it IS designed to so DO and to so DO in manner that IS respecting the vessel, neither over or under extending.
LISTEN to yOUR physical vessel..….it IS ALLways speaking to us, it IS ALLways responding to US, providing for us the messages required to KNOW what it IS needing of YOU and then…….respond appropriately through the Light of LOVE that IS the TRUTH of ALL that IS, including each of WE. š
For more assistance in yOUR research, YOU can BEgin by checking out the Fitness & Nutrition categories here on our FDS3 Blog. š
P.S. on the road to healing…
******The BESTest Place to start with our caretaking of the physical vessel IS….
BEing Aware of….
our
BREATH. š
In fact, this Awareness of our breath assists us upon ALL levels of our multi-dimensional BEingness from the physical to the esoteric. š
Take a moment right NOW……and LISTEN to yOUR Breathing.….BE in AWAREness of yOUR Breath as YOU inhale and exhale and DO so in deliberate intention, slowly, wholly, completely and……
Repeat through out yOUR day, often!!
