Cravings………ahhhhhhhhh
They come unannounced and demand our attention.
Whatever you find yourself craving for, if it’s something you KNOW is NOT good for you…..if it’s a craving you KNOW you Will Regret after the fact……
Remember:
ALL Cravings are simply a focal point withIN the Mind.
When the ‘bad’ craving ‘hits’, find something, ANYthing to DO that IS different than what you are doing when the craving hits, to occupy your mind for at least 10 minutes.
If the craving persists, ponder upon and CHOOSE HEALTHY Alternatives to it. (and NO, saying ‘this is the last time’ is NOT a healthy alternative)
It’s a great idea to kibosh any ‘bad’ cravings by ensuring you have healthy ‘finger foods’ available and prepared to eat at all times, such as;
* washed and cut up veggies,
* fruits,
* nuts and seeds,
* whole grain crackers,
* cereals,
* mixed salads cooked or raw which if come with dressing come with a healthy dressing such as olive oil or sunflower oil versus canola or heavy cream dressings
* mediterrean dips such as humous and tabouli
To your healthy eating and waist lines* 😉

How can we keep our fit and trim figures and serene minds in the face of the dreaded…..Hormonal Cycles of life? (what we call PMS for Women and general ‘moodiness’ for men….YES Boyzzzzz we KNOW****)
Healthy Living including how we are thinking – what thoughts we are giving attention to- as well as the ACTivities we are pARTicipating within and the food we are ingesting are all most DEFINITELY affected by the NATURAL Rhythms of our physical vessel’s Hormonal Fluctuations. Yup, all of them. Our thoughts, our emotions, our vitality, our appetite, our attractions and repulsions, our very state of simply BEing IS most intrinsically interconnected to, and affected by the naturally occurring hormonal shifts in our physical vessels.
Soooo what can we do, especially when those fluctuations are increasing our appetites and our waiste lines? How do we deal with something that is occurring on a level of expressed beingness- molecular- that we can’t see, that happens whether we want it to or not?
‘Cuz let’s face it, as many of we KNOW, when those cravings hit, they can BE fierce!! And let’s not even get started on the potential highs and lows of our emotional stability!!!
Well….as with any “BAD HABIT” we take it Moment to Moment.
For the ladies we generally have 2 ‘hot spots’ a month, “ovulation” and “pms”, and each one usually lasts anywhere from 1 – 4 days. For the gentlemen, if you don’t know when your ‘hot spots’ are, may I recommend taking a couple of months to actively and consciously track your moods, cravings, vitality, and overall sense of well being. May I suggest using a calendar [store bought or make shift] that has enough room given to each day to write a brief summary of how you are doing and put it up on the wall somewhere you can see it every day, and easily write on it, and then of course, DO!
Then, after tracking for a couple of months, see if there are any patterns emerging. Don’t go in with expectations either. Your patterns may be on a weekly basis, monthly basis, bi-weekly, even daily basis. Pay Attention, Be Aware, Track and Analzye, Reflect and Respond accordingly. 😉
Once you have figured out your own hormonal cycle as with the woman, on those ‘special days’……
BE that much More AWARE.….that much more CONSCIOUS of yourself and of that which you are allowing into your experience. Be MindFull of your ACTivities. Do what you can to ‘set the stage’ to assist yourself that much more than you normally would be//should be doing already. Of course, and I know this goes without saying, but I’m gonna say it anyways…….ya gotsta know when those ‘special days’ are in the first place, so make sure you are consciously aware of your rhythmic cycles to begin with. 😉
For those times when the cravings are really tough [men or women]
~ensure you have HEALTHY ALTERNATIVEs available; pre-cut veggies, pre-wash fruits, pre-cook easy to go yummy delicious healthy meals, make plans to go out for dinner with friends to healthy restaurants,
~before reaching for the ‘junk’, fill yourself up on more healthy foods from the get go…..
and…….
CHOOSE to pARTicipate in activities that are CALMing and Relaxing in the first place; Conscious Breathing, Physical Exercise, Listening to soothing Music, Reading, Writing, Meditative ACTivities- even a nice warm bubble bath- more so on these days, but in truth, incorporating such activities into our ‘regular routine’ are extremely assisting to our overall experience on these ‘special days’.
And remember……..“This too shall pass”.…it’s only a few days….soooo if you can make it through these few, YOU are gonna BE in “smooth clear sailing” there after. 😀
P.S. For those with more ‘severe’ responses, may I suggest getting a screening done – blood test- to assess your vitamin, mineral, hormonal levels, as well as your thyroid functioning, amongst others. This can assist you in choosing specific foods, as well as supplements which may provide for that which your body may be missing or are below healthy levels and vital to your overall homeostasis.

Soooo many people who are wanting to “get in shape” BElieve that they need to exercise like a maniac to so DO.
This is simply NOT the case.
Physical ACTivity IS primo supremo important however……shedding those extra pounds IS MUCH MORE AFFECTED by our EATing than our exercise. [it’s about an 75:25 ratio]
What, when, and how much we eat IS the FIRST ‘order of business’ when it comes to shedding unwanted and unnecessary pounds.
Physical ACTivity IS what allows for our ‘slim trim’ bodies to BE strong and maintain a healthy vitality by ensuring our body’s natural abilities for movement and operation are BEing regularly enhanced.
And yes, physical activity DOes assist in shedding pounds, however NOT if you are eating piles of unhealthy foods.
Soooooooooo…..BEfore running out to the gym after scoffing down pizzas, chocolate, and other processed unhealthy foods, take a look at the foods you are eating and feeding to your body and ensure that you are CHOOSing to treat your body as the Divine Vessel for yOUR LOVE’s Light to BE expressed through.
In other words……start by BEcoming a Conscious Eater….. ♥
Quick Healthy Eating Tip:
Read yOUR Labels…..
If you don’t know what the ingredients in a product are, don’t buy it….look for the more NATURAL, RAW, ORGANIC versions of whatever it IS you are seeking/needing.
And YES!!! There are ALLways healthier alternatives…….
And YES!! YOU CAN adjust your palette….your taste buds to healthier alternatives and with relative ease.
Start small…make changes slowly….choose 1 product at a time to replace with a healthier one…allow yourself to acclimatize to the new tastes and textures and expand there upon.

Eating Healthy portions……
that seems to BE a biggie.
We tend to take a lot more than we need [our eyes are bigger than our tummies] and keep eating way past what our bodies require……satiation…NOT fullness.
Sooooo how DO we assist ourselves?
Of course, take SMALLER portions.
Sounds easy enough…..but let’s face it, if it was that easy for everyone all the time, there would be no obesity problems, to begin with….
Okay soooo what we can DO to make taking those smaller portions easier IS:
*use smaller kitchenware – dishes, cutlery, serving utensils….
*take smaller bites – yup, ya heard me…..put less in your mouth with each bite and……..
*take your time with those bites…..chew, chew, chew, savour the flavour, taste what you are eating, enJOY your meal….
*********BE CONSCIOUS when you are eating don’t watch t.v. and mindlessly stuff yourself….BE AWARE*
*and then……..WAIT…….Patience***
BEfore taking any more portions to your intial portion serving, adding any additional helpings or sides, WAIT 10 minutes and see how you feel…..see if you are really still hungry or just eating unconsciously…….BEfore taking anything more.
***Another useFull tip, during the day when it is not ‘meal time’ and you are feeling hungry, before running to the pantry to stuff your belly, DRINK…….take a drink of water, veggie juice, coconut water, herbal tea, etc…..and then again, WAIT and see if you are really hungry.
A lot of times we are actually thirsty when we feel hungry…..soooo start with the liquids, wait and see and move from there into solids. ;D

Even if you don’t plan on doing a detox program, your health will benefit from adding more detox superfoods to your daily diet. There are many great superfoods with detoxifying properties, but here are my top 12 picks. And, they’re delicious too.
Almonds—are high in fiber, calcium, magnesium, and useable protein that helps stabilize blood sugar and remove impurities from the bowels.
Avocados—lower cholesterol and dilate blood vessels while blocking artery-destroying toxicity. Avocados contain a nutrient called glutathione, which blocks at least 30 different carcinogens while helping the liver detoxify synthetic chemicals. Researchers at the University of Michigan found that elderly people who had high levels of glutathione were healthier and less likely to suffer from arthritis.
Beets—contain a unique mixture of natural plant chemicals (phytochemicals) and minerals that make them superb fighters of infection, blood purifiers, and liver cleansers. They also help boost the body’s cellular intake of oxygen, making beets excellent overall body cleansers. Aphrodite, according to legend, ate beets to retain her beauty. She was definitely on to a good thing since beets, in addition to all the benefits listed above, also help stabilize the blood’s acid-alkaline balance (pH), which in turn supports healthy detoxification.
Blueberries—contain natural aspirin that helps lessen the tissue-damaging effects of chronic inflammation, while lessening pain. Blueberries also act as antibiotics by blocking bacteria in the urinary tract, thereby helping to prevent infections. They have antiviral properties and are loaded with super-detoxifying phytonutrients called proanthocyanidins.
Cabbage—contains numerous anti-cancer and antioxidant compounds and helps the liver break down excess hormones. Cabbage also cleanses the digestive tract and soothes the stomach, which could in part be due to its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage (kale is another excellent choice—see below) demonstrate powerful detoxification activity, including neutralizing some of the damaging compounds found in cigarette smoke (and second-hand smoke). They also contain a compound that helps the liver produce adequate amounts of enzymes for detoxification.
Cranberries—have powerful antibiotic and antiviral substances to help the body cleanse harmful bacteria and viruses from the urinary tract.
Flaxseeds and Flaxseed Oil— are loaded with essential fatty acids, particularly the omega-3s. They are essential for many cleansing functions and maintaining a healthy immune system. They are also critical to maintaining a healthy brain. The health of every cell in your body is dependent on getting adequate amounts of essential fatty acids.
Garlic—helps cleanse harmful bacteria, intestinal parasites, and viruses from the body, especially from the blood and intestines. It also helps cleanse buildup from the arteries and lowers blood pressure. Garlic has anti-cancer and antioxidant properties that help detoxify the body of harmful substances. It also helps cleanse the respiratory tract by expelling mucous buildup in the lungs and sinuses. I am referring to fresh garlic, not garlic powder, which has virtually none of the above properties.
Kale—contains powerful anti-cancer and antioxidant compounds that help cleanse the body of harmful substances. It is also high in fiber, which helps cleanse the intestinal tract. Like cabbage, kale helps neutralize compounds found in cigarette smoke and contains a substance that jump-starts the liver’s production of cleansing enzymes.
Legumes—are loaded with fiber that helps lower cholesterol, cleanse the intestines, and regulate blood sugar levels. Legumes also help protect the body against cancer.
Lemons— are superb liver detoxifiers. In addition, they contain high amounts of vitamin C, a vitamin needed by the body to make a substance called glutathione. Glutathione helps ensure that phase 2 liver detoxification keeps pace with phase 1, thereby reducing the likelihood of negative effects from environmental chemicals. Vitamin C and other antioxidants found in lemons are integral to ward off cancer, fight the effects of pollution and cell damage. Fresh lemon juice contains more than 20 anti-cancer compounds and helps balance the body’s pH levels.
Seaweed—could be the most underrated vegetable in the Western world. Studies at McGill University in Montreal showed that seaweeds bind to radioactive waste in the body so it can be removed. Radioactive waste can find its way into the body through some medical tests or through food that has been grown where water or soil is contaminated. Seaweed also binds to heavy metals to help eliminate them from the body. In addition, it is a powerhouse of minerals and trace minerals.

Healthy Living IS a relationship between YOU and yOUR physical vessel – [it IS also a relationship between YOU and yOUR soul/higher self, however for today we are stick’n to the physical…. though really quite similar is the “prescription” 😉 😉 ]
We need to foster a healthy relationship of LOVE with our bodies, even if we aren’t lov’n their size, shape, etc…..
Recognizing that our bodies are an extension of our selves and REQUIRE our tender loving care to BE the bodies we DO love…..size, shape and ALL, IS an important facet to having those bodies.
Recognizing that we are hurting our bodies when we are NOT providing them with the appropriate TLC [tender loving care]they require to function optimally is a HUGE STEP in providing that TLC.
Our bodies are dependent upon our choices.
Sure, we mess up, give them too much of what they don’t need or too little of what they DO……..HOWEVER…..
we can CHANGE that at ANY given MOMENT.
IF yesterday YOU did NOT feed yOUR body healthy foods, then DO so today.
If you have BEen ‘hate’n on your body’ find something, ANYthing about it that YOU DO LOVE, can BE grrreatFull for, like the fact that BEcause of it, YOU are here…….
Indeed when all else ‘fails’, we can always find gratitude for the divine vessel our body provides to our infinite consciousness. Our consciousness which does not see fat or skinny, tall or short, but is simply blissed the grace of love for the opportunity to experience life in the physical form.
Thus, if ever you are in a place where you are really not loving, let alone even just liking your physical form for the manner in which it presents itSelf, take a step back, take a step ‘out’ of the physical into the consciousness of your consciousness…of your soul, of your light of love and ALLOW yourself to perceive the gift that your physicality is from this perspective. <3
Start fostering a healthy relationship of LOVE with yOUR body today and YOU will start having the body YOU LOVE tomorrow***
