The “How To” for Facing your Fears
6. Treat others as you would yourself. {see essay, “Through the Apartment Window”}
Recognize that you are one individual within a species of billions.
See how very small you are, recognize that your life is only one story in a sea, an entire world in fact, of countless stories. Recognize that your story is no more precious or for that matter inconsequential, than any other. You are one, one amongst many, one amongst many with whom you are completely connected.
Recognize that you are connected with all that exists here upon the earth school. From the bees to the trees, from the multi-billion dollar executive to the homeless mother of three, begging in the streets of India.
We are all connected, comprised in our most basic elements of energy.
Energy is boundless. It projects outward and assimilates inward. You are a ball of energy molecules that are attracted to one another in the extreme. It is this extreme attraction that has allowed for the manifestation of the vehicle within which your Soul is able to reside, here upon the earth school.
This energy has an ebb and flow to it. This ebb and flow is giving to and receiving from the environment around you. This current of energy that you give and receive is affecting and effected by others and your self, respectively.
This is the only truth you can rely upon. The cars, houses, vacations, friendships, loves, families, successes, failures, are not to be relied upon. The only truth, the only one that you can hold tight to, is the fact that you are exactly the same as all others upon this earth school.
We are all part of ONE COLLECTIVE.
So, the next time you’re out, see the superstar and think to yourself, “wow, I’m in the presence of greatness”, as you carelessly step over the squeegie kid and his dog, for whom most would mutter under breath, “what a bum, what a loser, thank god, I’m not you.”,
THINK AGAIN!!!
You are both ‘the presence of greatness’ and ‘the loser’ sitting on the street corner with his/her dog, and they are both reflections of you. All that stands between you and either of these destinies, is yourself, and how you direct the mass of energy that is you.
So, go out into the world with a loving heart, and as the saying goes, treat others as you would yourself.

7. Remember that you are a divine being.
{see essay, “Allow me to introduce myself, I am God”}
Life can ‘hit’ you with some seriously major waves, mountain peaks and steep valleys.
The experience of these highs and lows can become so consuming, that you completely lose sight of the person going through the experience, you. Often times, when we find ourselves in situations of ‘dis-ease’ and discomfort, we tend to lose faith, confidence, security, LOVE, within and for our self.
We tend to forget the beautiful divine being we are, and all that we have to offer to this beautiful earth school.
We tend to forget we are held in high regard by all those who exist amongst us, within this vast cosmos. High enough in fact, to have been trusted to come to this earth school, to fulfill our collective purpose; regeneration and resurrection of the ‘land of pan’.
We tend to forget all of the individual gifts that we have been blessed with, to so do.
We doubt ourselves, our abilities, and disrespect the very blessings we have been gifted, as we deny love of self.
Insecurity, fear, guilt, doubt, lack of confidence, lack of self-respect, faith and belief.
All examples of not loving one self. All examples of listening to the whispering demons of our collective fears.
Heaven and Hell are here and now!!
Heaven is loving yourself and living life by soul’s direction. It is fulfilling your purpose here, which is to create heaven upon earth.
Hell is listening to, and incorporating, the collective fears of humanity, into the truth of your self-definition.
You must remember, remember all that is beautiful and glorious within you. How do you shine, what is it in you that illuminates your soul and thus all those around you?
How are you loving, how are you able to care for your self and your community?
What are your inner talents? What are your ‘outer talents’? Great with numbers?
Making people laugh? Relating a great story? Learning fast? An agile runner? A loving parent, friend, child?
When you are in a difficult situation, be it loss of work, the break-up of an intimate relationship, loss of faith in the system, society, or yourself, STOP! Take a minute to remove yourself from the situation. Take a step back and remember who you really are. Remember all that you have to give to this world. Remember all of your gifted talents. Remember that you are capable of accomplishing anything you set your mind to, so long as you believe in yourself, and call upon all the gifted resources of your being.
You were not sent here to fail.
You were not sent here to feel bad about the person you are.
You were sent here to love yourself and all those around you.
So do so.
Remember who you are when you are at your best, in the purest state of loving yourself.
Remember all the wonders you are capable of, and never let go of that truth.
Make this person, this fabulous person, who accomplishes “all the wonders”, your only identity. And then, fulfill your rightful purpose as the divine being you are, here upon the earth school, and LOVE.

Your Inner Child is adorable, precious and always putting things in its mouth that it shouldn’t. These are simply the things kids are and do. But did you really mean to sign over your bank accounts, wallet and earning power to the little munchkin?
Probably not.
So what do you do when your inner child has run off with your pocketbook?
Here’s how to identify what’s going on… and then we’ll tell you what to do about it.
4 Signs Your Inner Child is Playing Hide-and-Go-Seek With Your Money
1. Somebody’s Playing Peek a Boo!
Yep, children love that game… they close their eyes and all of a sudden you’re not there anymore. Peek a Boo!
Yes, kids can be so cute and easily misdirected, right? Well not so much. An informal survey of some really sharp little tykes we know demonstrated that they’re not misdirected ~ they’re practicing imagination.
Such a powerful imagination can come to haunt us however when we put that same little tyke in charge of our money. For example, a friend of ours, Jessica, recently confided some disturbing news:
“I owe more than $35,000 to the IRS. And now they’re saying I didn’t pay or file a past return and want me to pay double – and I already really did pay!”
Both of us were shocked. Jessica’s a pretty well-put-together gal. But it wasn’t even the debt that was so fascinating. It was how she dealt with it…
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I know I can just call them and set up a payment plan. It’s so easy. Yet I can’t bring myself to do it. I don’t want to have to face them – face this.”
Jessica isn’t afraid of the Big Bad IRS – her inner child is. It’s the part of her that says, “I can’t deal with all this grown up stuff. I don’t want all this responsibility. Just give me an allowance and I’ll be on my way.”
Without meaning to, she’s playing that same old game hoping that if she closes her eyes to the financial mess then it will miraculously disappear. She’s fully aware that won’t actually happen. But the power of her imagination lets her pretend it will for the time being.
2. You keep agreeing to barter the services you offer.

One of the wonderful yet complex results of our struggling economy is that more and more people are becoming consultants and starting businesses because they can no longer find traditional 9-to-5 work (or don’t want it). Striking out on the path of the entrepreneur or the person of service to others is daunting however.
At some point you come up against the fear that a career and financial success may somehow oppose the heart-centered service you’ve chosen… or your closer relationship to God or the Divine. One of the reasons for this is that your Inner Child wants your relationship to Source to be innocent and pure, and so this part of you will often believe that to be of true spiritual service you can’t sully that service with money or abundance.
Logically we know this isn’t true.
Yet time and again, our energy and emotions when money and service come together, show us that at a deeper level we actually do believe it. Caroline Myss said it best: “It’s not your conscious mind that’s co-creating your financial situation. Your conscious mind picks up the pieces of what your unconscious mind is doing.”
So if you find yourself often agreeing to barter your services, or to always give them at a discount ~ or on the flip side, you find people never want to pay what you’re worth or they don’t pay you for services rendered ~ this is often a signal that your Inner Child has taken charge.
The Child is the part of you that gets uncomfortable when large amounts of money are up for grabs. It says, “I can’t accept that. I still have to live off an allowance {read: barely make ends meet}, I have no right to a salary.”
Bartering can be healthy and even profitable. Yet for most people, it makes them feel cheated. In the end it didn’t help them pay their rent or put food on the table. It just made them feel victimized and betrayed.
Know that you are worth what you want to charge. Any discomfort is your Inner Child preferring to play small so no responsibility is thrust onto him or her. Remember: your Inner Child includes the Wounded Child, which is the part of you that connects responsibility with suffering, because of all the ways it was forced to grow up too fast and suffer pain. It also witnessed all the suffering or anger the grown ups expressed ~ again, due to their responsibilities.

3. You Approach Money as a Piece of Paper That Rules the World
Since you’re here reading this, it’s safe to assume that you do not abuse money to rule or harm others. Rather, most conscious people have the opposite problem: we fear money’s ability to rule or harm others.
And so a funny thing happens for those of us who choose to work in the consciousness field or pursue our spiritual journey: one of the first things we do to show how dedicated we are is to try and sever our relationship to money.
But this is a child’s way of seeing money. We’ve just made it Monopoly Money ~ a piece of paper with no value outside of the game… and our fear of that piece of paper can monopolize our ability to serve.
Money isn’t just a substance. It’s an entity and energy with which you have a relationship. It can be one of the most intimate companions you will ever have in life, and as with any intimate companion, you put that relationship in jeopardy when you refuse to look at and truly understand that relationship.
Know that money holds the energy of abundance and trust yourself to do the right thing with it. Acknowledge that you deserve to have and harness it, just as you deserve to harness powerful emotions, energy and the power of your own physical body. It’s all made of the same cosmic stuff.
4. You’re waiting for permission from someone else that it’s okay and you can do it.
Our own Jaime Mintun only recently became aware of her tendency to do this. Her own inner child is deeply rooted in the Magical Child (ask any of her schoolmates how they used to make fun of her for going to “Unicorn Camp” as a child!) and so the way the Child ran her finances was largely hidden. Due to rich usage of her imagination and a sense that anything was possible, Jaime was good at making money, such as six figures in a single month.
But we did say this was a game of ‘Hide-and-Go-Seek,’ right? So as soon as Jaime would find money, her Inner Child would run off and hide it again! And in this way, no true wealth ever accumulated.
During a talk with her mother about all her fears finally following her dreams with O! Lila and our new website, Jaime watched as something beautiful happened: her inner child began talking to her mother. And her mother told the child exactly what she needed to hear…
“Jaime you can do this. You’re not that 21 year old no one will listen to anymore. You’ve been through your paces. You’ve proven yourself. And you’ve always succeeded at whatever you’ve put your mind and heart to. I know you can do this. It’s going to be so wonderful.”
If you too have been resisting the path your soul most yearns for, because of all the financial fears, doubts of your ability, and all the logical reasons it won’t work ~ just remember that all of that is simply the rich imaginings of your sweet Inner Child who just needs you to say, “It’s okay. You can do it. I believe in you.”

How the Child Can Support You & Restore Your Abundance
The Child is the part of you that carries hope and new beginnings. The Child will always believe in the basic goodness in you and others and in its innocence, it will think that what’s best for you is to find someone to take care of you, because a child should never have to handle things themselves.
So how can you shift your relationship to money without denying or harming this wonderful, innocent and vulnerable part of you?
Give your Inner Child room to imagine, create, scribble all over the walls of your being and dream up grand visions of your new life. Give the child in you permission to be magical and then harness that child-like vision of your new beginning, project or career.
Because here’s the crux of the whole money problem: You already know that there’s a new avenue in life you want to pursue. But you probably tell yourself you can’t do it because of money. Then maybe you kinda give it a try and when it doesn’t work, you say, “Aha! See, I knew it. I can’t do it.”
How many times have you so dearly wanted your life to change but the reason you don’t pursue that dream is for financial reasons?
Remember how we said the Inner Child can’t manage money? The up-side of this is that your child within doesn’t want to manage money. This means you can step into this part of your psyche in the creative process and instead put it in charge of creation, mad magnificent ideas, and harness that glittering imagination to install the belief that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
So go ahead: find some crayons, gargantuan poster board and finger paints. Give your Inner Child permission to roam free and imagine whatever he or she can think of. Promise that you won’t judge, criticize or even strategize any of the ideas that present themselves. You can do that later when you put your Adult hat back on. Right now, give the Child within free reign. Give him or her a voice ~ and tools to create.
And don’t you dare color inside the lines this time.

The “How To” for Facing your Fears
3. Spend time alone with you. {see essay, “The Mind’s Eye”}
Contemplate, Meditate, spend time with yourself and your thoughts.
Introspection is the key to soul consciousness. You do not come to know yourself by looking out unto the world, those eyes are used by your ‘ego’, handling the day to day issues of life. You need to use your mind’s eye, what some call your “third eye”, and spend time alone with your thoughts.
Talk to yourself ‘in your mind’, have a conversation with you!
Reflect upon: your desires, and why you have them, your goals, and what you are truly attempting to accomplish, and your current status in life and why you are there. Question all, and listen carefully. Do not disregard any thoughts. Analyze them all, question their existence, and so, your own.
Then, let go and simply, be, not just ‘simply’ though, lovingly.
Let go of all your preconceptions, learned reactions and interpretations, fears and uncertainties, and embrace love, for yourself, the Universe and all her wonderful inhabitants.
Disassociate yourself with the microcosmic details of life, and open yourself to the macrocosmic, see the whole, to which you are a member.
Meditation in any form is a fabulous vehicle for such a cause. There are many ways in which you can meditate. It is a common misunderstanding that meditation can only be accomplished by sitting in the traditional ‘yogi’ position and repeating the ‘om’.
Meditation in fact, can occur at any time, in any place, through-out your day. You can meditate while exercising on the treadmill, lying in bed, cooking dinner, driving in your car, any time, any place.
Meditation, introspection, seeing with your third eye, is simply put, being in a place of calm, non-judgmental, loving awareness.
It is appreciating life, and all that you have to behold, within it. It is perceiving the world with your sixth sense. It is always being aware of the blessing that is your life. Always.
This means, that while you are completely immersed, within whatever your current task may be, a part of you is always objectively observing, both the task, environment, people, and most importantly, yourself, within it.
Not so easy to do all the time, hence, the standard ‘yogi/om’ meditation process.
Remember though, this is a guide to help you get to the point where you can ‘meditate’ in every living, breathing moment of your life. It is a learning ground, an educational process, one may choose as a vehicle to learn who they are, and open the eyes of their ego to the loving eyes of their soul.
Time on your own, spent contemplating and meditating, essentially any and all forms of introspection, are your divine blessing, your door to a life of bliss and happiness, as directed by soul’s love.
Here are some exercises you may incorporate:
§first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake, write, uninterrupted, for at least 5 minutes.
§for one week, at least once every day, try to remove yourself, look through your mind’s eye at the situation you find yourself within, and be both the objective observer and active participant.

Align yOUR Mind withIN yOUR Heart
4. Be objective. Think with your heart and feel with your mind.
{see essay, “Nice People“}
As we just saw in #3, always be an observer. And ‘how’ does one accomplish such a seemingly unnatural, detached state of being, you ask.
§Do not fully succumb all your being, intellect, and emotion to the situation.
§Always be aware of yourself, in any given situation.
Am I being perceived in a positive light? Am I emanating positive regard for myself and those around me?
Watch yourself as you do when you think that someone whom you really want to impress, is watching you. Or as the saying goes, act as though god is walking by your side.
§And if you can, remember that we are each divine beings, we are each aspects of ‘god’/love/divinity.
As such, you no longer perceive being watched by a ‘god’ unseen. Even when catching a glimpse of yourself in a mirror, watching yourself is ‘god’, an aspect of you!
§Be kind. Be generous. Be loving.
§Be aware. Be careful. Pay attention.
§Be considerate. Act with compassion.
§When you have a feeling, think about it first, before you express it. And when you express your feeling, this now analyzed thought form, do so with love.
**It IS important to note, our ‘need to be’ so deliberately conscious at all times in this now IS BEcause we are in ‘training mode’, ‘teaching/learning mode’ on how to face our fears and BE LOVE. Once we have had enough practise, as with all things in life, BEing LOVE will BEcome second nature [though TRUEly it IS our primary, authentic nature….] and our dedicated, devoted, deliberate attention to so BEing shall no longer BE required, it will simply, BE.
Always remember, your every action, your every spoken word, even facial expressions, are affecting someone else. You are a composite of attracted energy molecules, and as such your every thought, action, and feeling are propelling some composite form of energy out into the Universe.
Make sure that the affect you have on this universe is a positive one of love.
Think with your heart and feel with your mind.

Personal Legend
5. Find your Personal Legend, and then Fulfill it. {see essay “Personal Legend”}
Your Personal Legend is that which you enjoy the most, it is your greatest gift, both given by and shared with, the Universe.
I am an effective communicator, and I utilize this gift within my Ontological Writing, web T.V. Broadcasting through BEing LOVE T.V., and enLIGHTenment Guidance//WHOLEistic Life Coaching. This is my Personal Legend, the Universal blessing I have been given to enhance the earth school. I use my Personal Legend to fulfill our collective purpose;
to serve humanity in love and goodwill, to reconstruct and regenerate an earth school whose inhabitants live and create life within and by the love of soul.
This is our collective purpose. We are all responsible. How we fulfill this purpose is our own individual gift to one another. You must find your gift and then do all you can to fulfill it.
As a communications specialist for over a decade, I used to work in corporate industries, non-profit communities, and with Canadian artisans of every medium. I have promoted all. Some, more meaningful than others. Some, allowing me greater participation within the collective purpose, than others. And yet, as dedicated to their cause as I was, I was not fulfilling my own, as I am now. 😉
We must each fulfill our own Personal Legend.
How do you find your Personal Legend?
Introspection. While you are meditating, contemplating, spending time on your own, ask yourself what gift you and you alone have to give to this world. Not how you can help your spouse, partner, friend or family member accomplish their Personal Legend.
What gift do you have to offer unto humanity.
What is it that you are capable of doing that truly rewards you with feelings of sincere accomplishment?
What do you garner the most inspiration, meaning and enjoyment from?
Here’s an easy one, next time you’re having fun, be aware of the fact.
Stay tuned for Part 4 of “The’How To’ for Facing your Fears”

The “How To” for Facing your Fears
Let us take our first step then, together;
1. See yourself and everyone else as a Child. {See essay- ‘Blessing for a child’}
Now that you are ‘grown’, you have the wisdom that comes only once you have so done. You are ‘wise’ to the fact that aging doesn’t transform you into some ‘other being’. You are now aware that age doesn’t equate to loss of self. Adulthood isn’t all you dreaded it to be, it’s just you, the little boy or girl, older, wiser, and with a hell of a lot more responsibility.
*Responsibility in so far as our awareness of just how response able we are for our experience in life and our ability to respond consciously through love.*
Adulthood is not changing into some old rickety cynic, it’s accepting and caring for your responsibilities consciously, in love’s embracing grace.
You still want the same love as you did when you were younger. You still dream, hope and long for. You still enjoy music, books, sports, and much that you did as a youth.
You are still emotionally affected and effective. Hopefully, your understanding and emotional needs have wizened as you have experienced more of life. Hopefully, you have learnt how much love you have to give, to yourself!
Still, you want to be accepted, you want to be validated, acknowledged, respected, and most of all, loved. We all do, no matter what our age. The problem is, we get so caught up in the ‘perceived obligations’ of our lives, that we allow these to be the incentive for our actions when interacting with one another. We are people, not things, bills, or deadlines, we are people, we need to be spoken to, not our obligations.
See, speak and treat one another with the loving tenderness as you would a child.
Show respect for someone because they are, not because of what they are.
Walking down the street, you see a filthy, smelly, homeless person. They are asking for your money. Do you ignore them and walk in the other direction, or do you stop and give them the respect of acknowledgement, whether you give a donation or not?
You have lost touch with a once ‘close friend’. It wasn’t a bad parting, they were never very good at keeping in touch in the first place. It’s been about three months and your paths happen to cross. You make eye contact, but they turn away as though they had not seen you. Do you write them off, vowing never to speak to this heartless individual, who obviously does not care enough to even acknowledge your presence?
Or, do you realize that they are extremely insecure, and likely turned away not because they didn’t want to talk with you, but because they were too embarrassed with their own behaviour.
Your business partner just cost your business a huge multi-million dollar account.
Do you berate, yell, scream and demean them, or do you go out and get sloshed together? Do you provide them with the support and reassurance that they require from you in this moment, when they must feel so horrible?
Are you motivated by the person in front of you or the “what” they have to offer?
See the child and feel the love.

2. Speak and act from love, no matter what your thoughts may be.
{see essay, “Words, Words, Words}
No-one can be prosecuted for their thoughts, no-matter how awful they may be. These are your own private, internal conversations. No other need know what these comprise, most especially if what they comprise, is hurtful in any way.
Accept that you do have these thoughts and when you do, it is okay. It is a gift, a lesson awaiting your discovery. Negative thoughts arise so that we may gaze upon them, acknowledge them, understand them, transcend them into love and thus let them go. If it makes ya’ feel better, everyone has some variation of ‘those’ thoughts, at some time in their lives;
~secretly revelling in the idea of a neighbour’s outlandishly massive sun blocking tree, being ~struck by lightening, smashing their car,
~angrily daydreaming of a past disrespectful and abusive employer declaring bankruptcy,
~experiencing a dream involving sex with someone considered inappropriate,
~wishing tragedy upon one who has hurt you.
You can alter the scenes above as you see fit. The point is, everyone does it, so accept that you are one of us, human, faltered, and blessed with opportunity!
Then, spend some time meditating upon or find someone to speak with so you may figure out why you are having these thoughts. This self-propelled investigation is your gateway to growth in awareness, and healing through love.
If you are more comfortable with external assistance as opposed to introspective, make sure you find an appropriate setting with an appropriately qualified individual.
In other words, most people in your life need not know of your fearful, painful and hurtful thoughts, especially the ones, about them! These are your ‘demons’ to deal with, and no-one else need face them but you.
Once you have conquered your tendency to share these thoughts, then you may begin to practice inhibiting all negative thoughts from verbal expression, unless as indicated, within appropriate parameters. This of course shall reinforce a natural tendency to automatically transcend negative thoughts into ascended thoughts of love. In other words, the more we use our negative thoughts as opportunities for healing, the more automatic shall be our process, thus the less negativity shall we experience over all.
Your goal;
always come from a perspective of love, from a positively enhancing position.
This does not mean you have to agree with, or like everything that another says or does. It does imply however, communicating your thoughts, wishes, desires, and needs effectively, through love.
Your friend is explaining their take on a movie you just saw. Yours was not the same.
Your response could be, “no, that’s not what it was about” or “I see, interesting view,
I was affected by the movie’s xyz in this way….”
You ask your brother to babysit for you, you really need his help, the situation is rather critical, to you. He tells you that the hour earlier he would have to wake up in the morning is simply too much of an imposition on his life.
Do you tell him he is a selfish ingrate, a most uncompassionate jerk, or do you respect his choice and accept that your unhappiness is your own making. He is not responsible for you or your child and if your expectations have led you down a road to disappointment, then it is a road that you must redirect yourself upon.
There is no need to express your disappointment, {which you should not feel in the first place},
your brother is well aware that you are disappointed, you asked him for a favour and he was unable to assist you. Nothing more need be said.
Remember, your words are long and far-reaching.
Let us reach with love.
