Roni’s love affair with fitness began before most physical fitness professionals would recommend, ( not to mention, before gyms generally permit membership without parental consent), when she was barely 14yrs.  Somehow she managed to get herself a membership to a gym, ( through a friend of a friend’s parent ), and hasn’t looked back since.

Truth be told, this love affair did NOT begin with anything cardiovascular or aerobic in nature.  She was all anaerobic ( weight lifting / conditioning ???????? ) all the way!!!  Mind you, this had more to do with the facts that; 

 (a) her entire physical fitness life before this was mostly cardio in nature;  school gym classes, games played outdoors with friends, extra curricular activities from dance to skating school,not to mention, again….., weight lifting is NOT recommended for those under 16yrs – 18 yrs. ???? 

And the only home exercise shows & videos that were on the market at the time( think back now to the 80’s — Olivia Newton John, Jane Fonda, even Jamie Lee Curtis !!! ????????‍♂️⛹????‍???????? ) were all aerobic,

coupled with…….

(b) her tendency towards mild yet chronic asthmatic breathing, which always caused her strain when  pARTicipating in any of the aforementioned. 

It was thus, that playing with weights was both a novelty, a vast treasure chest of discovery, empowerment, and the beginnings of her fascination with the anatomical, skeleto-musculature of the human body.

It would come as no surprise then, that when first introduced to Yoga, (not long after entering the ‘gym scene’ ) it was, for her, nothing more than a very slowed down experience of the cardio activities she was accustomed to, including all the ‘fancy’ new ones she had discovered in the gyms, with all their ” high tech ” machinery.  Not very exciting to a young teen. ????  More over, it was experienced more as stretching and calisthenics than anything else, which, albeit, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by EVERY Fitness Professional she ever communicated with, was not really something she found great value in — at the time !!!  ????  ( Fast forward a couple of decades and boy oh boy did her song change tunes !!! ????

It was not until a few years later, when Roni’s own personal enLightenment journey BEcame more conscious to her, ( her Soul’s Personal Legend / raison d’etre / purpose for actualizing into an Earth Angel Divine ) that she learned about the TRUE NATURE of YOGA, and from that moment on, became smitten!!!  Her blossoming relationship of beayouty with Yoga, going strong for over 3.5 decades now, was bliss kissed into beingness when Roni learned of the Upanishads

These ancient Sanskrit texts are the ” Spiritual enLightenment ” portion of the ” Vedas “, an amalgamation of philosophy, meditation, consciousness, mysticism, science, and ontological knowledge.   ( How timely, n’est ce pas ?? ????️  Existence is assisting and directing us upon our pathways even when we are not consciously aware thereto, and all~ways……, FOR us and our highest happy’ness and greatest good. ????️ )

The very first recorded mentions of Yoga are in the Upanishads ( Katha ), presented as a reliable pathway, practice, observance, and lifestyle to achieve spiritual enLightenment ( Moksha ), the ultimate purpose of the love’s wisdom shared within these ancient scriptures, and ultimately, as it were, our very purpose for existing. 

 

Yoga is formally defined as “union”, as the UNION of body, mind, heart, and soul with “Universal Consciousness” or Spirit.  Otherwise spoken to as the Union of our conscious awareness (I AM presence /  presence in the NOW ) through breath ( pranayama / conscious breathing ), with our quintessential beingness ( higher self / brahma ), leading to a supreme state of enlightened consciousness 

(  ” fabyoubliss ” as Roni would call it  ???????? ) with ‘All’ ( or as Roni would say ” Our I*** that is All that is, ever was, or will be”. — Ya …. mouthFulls of OnederFull  ???? ).Talk about a stretch from ‘just stretching’, huh ??? ????

It was when she real~eyes’ed this, the authentic purpose of Yoga, its fundamental quintessence, that her true journey with it began, and thus did the blossoming beayouty that is Yoga, unfold before her eyes.  Suddenly, she was aware of the intricacies that had eluded her before, such as;  how Yoga is inseparable from our very ” breath of life “, how it is not only aerobic but anaerobic, AND….. Consciousness conditioning too !!!  WowZzAhhhh !!!

Fast forward a decade, to when Roni first became a certified Professional Personal Fitness Trainer.  Yoga had not yet reached the pinnacle of popularity it has today, and those studying to be Fitness professionals, more often than not, did not see Yoga as a necessary auxiliary to augment one’s studies, but more as an integral part of the certifications themselves.  It was thus, Roni included Yoga as a fundamental part of the personal fitness training she provided her ” Feline Fitness ” ( Roni’s first self directed business back in the early 90’s ) clientele, as well as within her own personal fitness regimen.

A few decades and thousands of Yoga Practice & INstruction hours later, we were all suddenly isolated in solitary confinement, and Roni’s email inboxes started flooding with offers of Yoga Teacher Training opportunities.  As the lover of Whole~istic Health & Wellness she is, not to mention her unwavering dedication as a guiding light, to remain ever open to the infinite knowledge awaiting our grasp, ( forever the teacher And student ???? ???? ), Roni jumped on the opportunity to formalize her decades of wisdom, training, & teaching immediately, and consequently obtained her Certified Yoga Teacher Certificate.  Of course, once ya open pandora’s box ………  Roni is currently in process of obtaining certifications in Kundalini, Elder/Chair, Children’s, Prenatal & Yin Yoga, along with Meditation, & Pranayama certifications, which follow the recent completion of her certification training in 3rd Eye Awakening.  Yup !!! ’tis true, ’tis true, we weren’t joke’n when mentioning that ” love affair with fitness & all things Whole-istic Health, Well Being & Consciousness enLightenment ” of hers…….   ????️ Talk ’bout a ” Renaissance Wombyn of Body, Mind, Heart, & SOUL ” !!! ????

On that deLightFull note, let’s talk YOGA !!!

As shared, Yoga is one of ” the ways “ to achieve ourultimate purpose ” for this life giving breath we are each gifted, as taught through the love’s wisdom contained in the Upanishads.  It is essentially, a ‘way of life’ that allows one to walk this earth from an enLightened state of consciousness  ( enLightenment itself, an eternal journey of infinitely transcending ascension ), by providing the necessary steps by which one may achieve this state of beingness — to be the Me we Love to Be;  the ME we came to be for the BEnefit of All.  It is a guiding system that takes us step by step into the deeper layers and levels of our beingness, until we are able to consciously touch the very core of our Me — which as it so happens is THE SAME withIN each of We — Namaste Love’s Grace — the unity of all that is, ever was, or will be.  So you see, Yoga ‘ takes us in ‘, to the most infinitesimal to unite us with INfinity itself.  ????️

The Asanas ( postures / poses / physical movement ), Pranayama ( conscious breathing ), Meditations, Mantras ( Conscious repetitive sounds, statements of affirmation ), Mudras ( conscious hand gestures to direct our prana – life force energy ), Kirtans ( songs of dedication, Bhakti Yoga ), Kriyas ( devoted actions, Raja Yoga ), and Scripture Studies ( Jnana Yoga ) are all facets of ” the Yoga pathway to enlightenment, and to living one’s life consistently from this consciousness paradigm.  Yoga is NOT in actuality a practice whose objective is obtaining physical fitness unto and for the sole purpose of itself, but to prepare the physical vessel to be the instrument of enlightened consciousness ( what Roni refers to as Namaste Love’s Grace ) we are INtended to be — the spirit made flesh. ( the spirit of the One, the Soul of each Me, experienced, expressed, & shared through the density of physical form  )   Which as it so happens, ( BEing an emBODyment of enlightened consciousness ) has been scientifically proven to also be the way by which we, as members of the hUman family achieve our greatest optimal homeostasis and bliss in living this life, or, as Roni would say, being the Me we love to be and loving this life we are living, as we are living it.

Ya…….a pretty far cry from ” stretching “, IN~deed.  ????️ 

When engaging in the physical aspects of Yoga, the Asanas, which generally speaking, are taught, in tandem with many of the aforementioned ( pranayama, meditation, mudras, etc…. ) even by the least interested in consciousness and enlightenment, one is gifted such a vast array of benefits, that they simultaneously positively affect one’s beingness Whole-istically;  body, mind, heart and soul.  And of course, any one person, place, or thing that elevates their frequency, positively impacts all of we, all that is, ever was, or will be.  Ya…..it’s kinda exponential that way, …….loving one’s Me……..the greatest of gifts that can be. ????????️????????

Before we do however, just a brief note regarding the biggest differences between the main 4 styles of Yoga shared above, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, & Yin.

If you can imagine each one as a dance;

Ashtanga would be High Frequency Tech – the flow is at a much faster rate, more aerobic in nature, with less pauses to hold a pose (the asanas), and increased fluidity & speed between asanas.

Vinyasa would be more of a Funky Disco or Progressive Trance –– the flow is fast but not as fast as Ashtanga, there is more variability to the flow sequence, and increased pauses, albeit brief in nature.

Hatha would be more of an upbeat Waltz, with a continuous flow, that has very deliberate pauses, providing for a greater depth in stretch, as well as anaerobic conditioning ( muscle strengthening ), depending upon which asana one is being instructed to hold.

And Yin would be more akin to a very slow moving interpretative dance, with asanas held for elongated periods from 5 – 20 mins each, allowing for deep stretching that may reach into and positively affect even the subcutaneous ( deepest tissue ) layer of the physical vessel.Having shared all the above, noticing the dance metaphors ????, whilst Roni does In~Deed provide guiding INstruction in each of the above ( & more ), it is actually her preference, both in teaching,

and …..most definitely in her own personal practice, to do what is often referred to as FUSION YOGA;  in which 2 or more different styles of either Yoga or Yoga and some other Fitness form are combined together within one class

In fact, Roni is known to actually love ” MULTI Fusion Yoga ” classes, or a ” flow ” ( the sequence of asanas that create the class structure ) that combines more than 2 styles, such as free flowing dance, pilates, balance in mobility, calisthenics & aerobics and anaerobic conditioning, all interfused withIN a primarily Yoga based and focused quintessential foundation.

Yoga classes are awemazing, ( Especially S3’s Yoga classes with Roni ???? obviously !!! ???? ),  let’s start with the basic FACTS.  They offer an effective way of learning and practicing the art of Yoga, whilst toning and conditioning one’s body, mind, heart, and soul.  They are the whole~istic answer to a full body, NOPE!!! that would be Full BEing workout, or would that more appropriately be exaltation ? transcenDance ? enLightenment ? polishing ? buffing ?  Oh…ya, you get the picture. ????☺️

In a private 1:1 yoga session, the student is gifted the instructor’s undivided attention, which, in and of itself is hUge !!!  However…… when one is blissed with S3’s Roni as their guide, this “gifting ” speaks not only of her undivided attention to one’s yoga practice, but the tailoring of said practice to your individual needs, and with a fluidity that flows with you, making shifts as necessary in the NOW.
